Creating your own lavender based aroma
Winter is a great time to experiment with your own lavender based aroma.
We find Pacific Blue is a great oil for mixing. It’s aroma is very different from the traditional lavender you might associate with your grandmother!
We thinks it associates well with New Zealand’s brand 100% Pure. The aroma is fresh, different and definitely Pacific!
To make your own aroma mix try the following recipe.
You will need:
* sealable glass container – not plastic!
* Carrier oil such as Almond, cold-pressed coconut oil, olive or avocado. A carrier oil is an oil that “carries” other
oils. It is used to dilute essential oils before applying them to the skin.
* Pacific Blue essential oil
You will then need to:
* Pour the carrier oil into the glass container
* Add Pacific Blue essential oil. The amount of essential is dependent on what the end use is. Lavender oil could even
be used neat but typically the essential oil content is between 5-10% of the final mix.
How do you calculate the % mix?
(The desired % concentration) x 30ml/oz x (The number of drops per milliliter – say 45 for Pacific Blue).
An example is to calculate a 10% mix of Pacific Blue essential oil in each ounce then this formula works
0.10 x 30 x 45 = 135 drops from a dropper should do the trick.

You can of course add all sorts of other essential oils to this base mix, depending on your preference and the end use.
Happy mixing!
