Autumn is the time we start pruning lavender. There’s a certain coolness in the air and by the end of the day the back knows it’s had a work out!

We need to prune both varieties of lavender into a small dome shape to encourage wide growth the following summer. We use a hedge trimmer to help us with this task. Time invested here shows up in next years harvest.
